I love how the dude … I love how the dude from Was (Not Was) is back there like, “Oh te-eh-he-hehll Me-yeeee!” I wonder how things are going for that guy?
Is this right — … Is this right — people are uttering Sonny Rollins’ sanctified name in the same breath as Kenneth G? In that universe, if Sonny plays sax, then Kenny G is playing a kazoo. Even David Sanborn knows to step aside in this video, and he’s an excellent player.
number1… … number1… embouchure ALSO refers to the chamber created in the mouth by flexing cheek muscles and which gives a wind player greater control of the amount of wind being passed into the mouthpiece and allows greater control and subtlety of sound. Also it avoids the strain of “puffy” cheeks and a swollen neck, both of which I noted in your breathing while playing. I should tell you that I studied the clarinet at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. Hope you find this helpful.
Number1….Finally … Number1….Finally took a look at your channel. Very instructive. The first thing I noticed was your posture. I hope you have good health insurance that covers chiropractic treatments…you’ll need it. Secondly, you have no embouchure (look it up) it is one of the basic requirements for playing a wind instrument. Thirdly you do not breath – or do not know how to breath properly while playing a wind instrument. Finally, you are certainly not a jazz musician. Keep at it, you won’t get any better.
If you go to his … If you go to his channel and watch one of his videos, It looks to me like he is doing a bit. I HOPE he’s doing a bit. Either way, a few minutes into the first video you watch will render all his “arguments” moot. It is kinda amusing, actually.
@number1saxophone ” … @number1saxophone “Most musicians…”!?! Kenny G “one of the best out there.”
You said you had never heard of Rollins. Ha Ha Ha.
Being a sax player without ever hearing of Sonny Rollins is a little bit like being a shoe shine man who’s never heard of shoe polish.
any of you people … any of you people who are claiming to know jazz but have never heard of sonny rollins are making fools out of yourselves before the eyes of the world. he’s, like, one of the most well-known and respected sax players in history.
@MajorSecord It … @MajorSecord It was called Sunday night, then changed to Michelob Presents Night Music…Rollins is also amazing on the Stones Tattoo You album…
I must agree Kenny … I must agree Kenny G is about as gay as it gets . He panders to yuppies and his music sucks . Sonny Rollins blows the doors off Kenny G-spot . I believe that is David Sanborn with Sonny Rollins in this video . David Sanborn is also a much better sax player than G-spot .
LOL just because … LOL just because you call yourself ‘number1saxophone’ (amongst other things) doesn’t make you any good at the saxophone….your videos certainly speak for themselves, and I kinda wish they’d shut up!!
This video (with Leonard Cohen and Sonny Rollins) on the other hand, is an example of great music featuring some excellent musicians.
That’s cute, the … That’s cute, the quip about my name. I shouldn’t have expected a response with any notion of substance in it. Keep on soiling jazz, friend, if that’s your thing – it’s your soul.
