i go to basic training between my junoir and senoir year in high school and my manager said that he will have to fire me. Is this true?

Legally, he is not allowed to do that because you are military personell. However, there are some anti-military managers out there that find ways around it. If he does, you can usually press charges. Talk to your recruiter about it. He can explain all of this to your manager in a peaceful way and win him over. Don’t try to do it yourself, it could get heated, then you really will be fired.

I think reemployment rights are only guaranteed to full time workers who have had a job longer than 90 days. If he’s a dick, just make sure you tell everybody he doesn’t support the Guard/Reserves.

Look up the Soldier and Sailor Relief Act. Your boss could get into some trouble.
