Seattle Fire Department Ladder 1 and Engine 10 Aid and Medic Response

Seattle Fire Department Ladder 1 being dispatched and responding to 7th Ave / Union St. This was an Aid Response. Time out was 1520 on 1/17/09. Engine 10 was then dispatched to 1270 6th Ave. South with Medic 32. This was a Medic Response. Time out was 1522 on 1/17/09. Ladder 1 is using a reserve rig. Ladder 1 is normally assigned a tillered-ladder.

    yea in america some areas have a reg that states you need to be out in atmost a min. while others is 2 mins. now would u run like crazy for a B.S call like wires down? also in cites ppl call ambos because they want a free ride to the hos.

    Yes, that’s right. It was two different calls. While my scanner was on the medical channel, I suspect that dispatches were “stacking” … meaning that E10 knew they had a run a minute or two before the Locution audible came out. That’s why both bay doors opened at the same time.

    The call actually wasn’t even dispatched until about 20 seconds after the ladder left. I think what happened was there was a 911 call in the area and they knew they were going to be dispatched. Ladder’s dispatch time was a bit slow.

    I think the response time for the Ladder was okay.
    The truck would get in trouble in Germany, because all trucks and ladders have to respond in 1 minute. ;)
