I agree that this … I agree that this is one of the best examples of solid Engine Company Ops. I have shown this to our guys on a number of occasions. No hectic, scattered running around, just calm, cohesive and well though out attack. Big changes in smoke conditions on side A after the Truck opened up. Solid. All in under 5 minutes. Nice Engine. Is that a Ferrara? Great stuff brothers.
that house was … that house was about 50% involved by fire when they arrived on scene. in less than a minute they had the fire knocked down just super heated gases still in the atmosphere. prompt vertical ventilation finished off the rest of the problem. good job very impressive. and to the guy talking about water damage most of that water was turning into steam i bet they used under 1000 gallons.
The venturi nozzles … The venturi nozzles sucks!!! They use too much water. Fog nozzles use less which in turn creates less water damage and less of a live load in the structure. Awsome job gettin the job done though.
Why do people have … Why do people have to ruin these awesome videos by placing annoying music over the sound? I prefer to hear the actual sound that goes with the video… not some guy screaming words to a song.
WillaVance, keep in … WillaVance, keep in mind this is probably one of the largest homes(approx. 1,000sqft) in the 5th ward. They’re all Crack houses. The easiest house fires in the US are like this, even the weekest Volly department can make this look good.
i will admit….. … i will admit…..VERY SMOOTH….awesome knock down…i love watching a scene get cleaned like clock work…..unfortunately the nature of the beast, volunteer depts(like mine) dont run quite this smooth….great job hfd
WillaVance….the … WillaVance….the firefighter on the line is a paramedic. We like to refer to ourselves as “Advanced Firefighters”. Houston has rotation stations with crosstrained personnel. Old school is out!
firefighters who … firefighters who fight fires like this everyday make it look easy and fire fighters who do not, usually screw it up. Paramedics need to stay in the Band-Aid Buggy.
Well the front of … Well the front of the Engine says “Fifth Ward”, and the Fifth Ward is on the Northeast side of Downtown Houston. So my guess is somewere over there…
No, it wasn’t a … No, it wasn’t a practice burn. Just seemed that way cause it went so smooth. Having a Paramedic on the Nozzle probably helped out ALOT!
