    Many South Florida …
Many South Florida Departments also have 2 medics and a Lt on the units. My department has the M2 Freightleiners, WITHOUT the extended cab, and it sux. Not enough space for all our brush gear/bunker gear/swim gear/hazmat gear…some rescues carry extra hand tools for extrication because they are at a station without an engine

Our rescues carry both ALS capabilities along with firefighting capabilities. Which means there has to be a spot for bunker gear, irons, hydrant tools, etc. Its much faster than having the paramedics arrive and just stand there waiting for something to do because they dont have gear or equipment to set up VES.

For some strange reason Florida fire departments really have a thing for monster medic (2 ton) ambulances. I don’t get it. How do they dupe the taxpayers to pony up the dough for those over priced rigs???
