Borrowing traffic cones from police or fire department?

Do you know if you can borrow traffic cones from the police department or fire department? I want to practice maneuverability so I can get my liscense. I live in Columbus, OH. Anyone know if the Columbus police/fire let people borrow cones? Or just in general, anyone know?

I work a police dept in NE Ohio and I would say at least every other week we loan out cones to people, just go ask.

You can buy the really little cones at a hardware store. I’ve never heard of the police ot DOT letting people borrow them. Don’t even think about taking them either. Work w/ your family to create something else that would work. Any object would do the same thing.

If you cant get the cones try milk jugs and broom handles. That’s how I practiced for the test when I was 16. Just dont forget to weight the jugs down.

I suppose you could ask, or you could set up your own barricades. For example, two trashcans. Where I live, the DMV allows you to practice in their lot where they have the cones set up. This is the same lot you take your test in. This is open to the public until a certain time in at night. I would check to see if you can do that at you local motor vehicle department.

    Good Luck!
