err no, although he could do a citizen’s arrest, as anyone could, but only the Police have the powers to actually arrest a criminal and put them in prison.
Can fire officers do that in the USA then?

Anybody can make a citizens arrest.
However, in this day and age you are likely to get your head kicked off, or stabbed, or shot.

Yes but only as a citizens arrest, the same as me and you can.
And as for a high ranking Maser Mason, there is no such thing, all Master Masons are equal.A high ranking Mason has take the next step i:e Worshipful Master or higher. Hope this helps.

He could only do a citizen’s arrest – like anyone else in UK no matter what your profession is. However if he is a Chief Officer and he is also in charge of the fire and safety in the department – then he can indeed!!!

know about specific powers of arrest but under the pace act 1984 any citizen may arrest without a warrant a person who has committed or who they reasonably suspect to have committed an arrestable offence

    Yes.

Anyone can arrest anyone else in the UK (England and Wales, Scotland may have slightly different powers). It’s what’s known as ‘any person powers’.

These differ slightly from Police powers but basically if you think an arrestable offence has been committed and you think you know who did it then anyone can arrest a person on suspicion of having committed the offence.
