How do you pull a fire alarm handle down in a fire?

On a fire alarm it says pull down. Do you pull the handle straight down or do you pull it out and then down? When you are pulling the handle down do you pull it slowly or quickly? Why is it that some people would pull it at a slower pace as opposed to others?

The arrows on the handle point down does this mean you pull the handle straight down without pulling it out and down? How would someone know to pull the handle out and down why don’t the instructions say to pull the handle out and then down? Why are there arrows how does this help someone pulling it down?

Just grab it and pull it down man.
You’ll figure it out.

If flames are licking at your heels, you’ll pull it any damn way you have to! Just yank that sucker, the quicker the better. Grab the fire extinguisher if it’s a small fire, and if it’s a big one, just get the hell out.

LMAO!! I’m gonna answer seriously, although I’m pretty sure this is just a big FREAKIN JOKE! Most all pull station are made to be pulled straight down, it’s pretty obvious, I mean jeez they’re not going to make it complicated it’s a freaking fire alarm pull station. Unless it’s dual action and then usually u push it it and then pull down, and yes it will tell you if that’s necessary. Just make sure the flames aren’t lickin at your heels first.!
