How often do fire fighters actually fire fires?

It never seems like fire fighters after fight dangerous building fires. Typically they respond to accidents and are too late to any automotive fires to really do much about it. How often do they actually run into burning buildings and risk their lives?

Upon the basis that seems an extremely difficult – if not impossible – question to answer other than upon a local basis, I made up the following response -

Whether its day or whether its night
Whether its dark or whether its light
Against the flames the fireman will fight.
For every fireman has only one aim
That is to put out each threatening fame.

Four firefighters were discussing the number of fires they extinguished for the month of February. Rafael extinguished 25% fewer fires then Louis in February. William extinguished 50% more fires then Rafael. Albert extinguished 20% fewer fires then Rafael and William combined. If Louis extinguished 6 fires per week, how many fires did all four men extinguish during the entire month?

It is 105 – I will explain the rationale!
Assuming it is not a leap year.

Louis = 4 x 6 = 24
Rafael 24 x 75% = 18
William 18 x 150% = 27
Albert = 80% x (18+27) = 80% x 45 = 36

24+18+27+36 = 105

First off – I’d like to know why the immigrants would want to set the fires to keep warm? Has McCain been outside lately? Doesn’t he live in Arizona? Maybe he has been somewhere up north lately. We’re having record temperatures. 90 degrees C isn’t warm enough for Mexicans?
Awesome – No, it only feels like it’s cold because the temperatures drop. Maybe you should research. 70s are not cold.

McCain is a RINO, you know…Republican In Name Only. That said, the premise of your question is wrong, they are not immigrants, they are ILLEGAL immigrants…sleeping outside much of the time when they are coming into this country ILLEGALLY. The fires could be cooking fires….

How do fire engines store the water they use to put out fires?

Fire engines surely use an insane amount of water to put out big house fires etc. Always wondered where they store all that water that comes out of the hose? Cheers

What beach in Miami allows bon fires at night?

On Facebook, the popular kids that I know sometimes have bon fires in some beach. What is a beach in the Miami area that allows bon fires at night? Is there one in Key Biscayne? Thanks!

All the beaches in Miami-Dade are municipal or county parks. They all require a fire permit which you have to apply for in advance. That doesn’t mean people don’t try to get away with it, but if someone spots a fire, they’ll likely call it in. The fire dep’t (Key Biscayne has at least one fire station I know of) is only a phone call away & they’ll bring the police with them. So you call them first & see if you can get a permit.

Does anyone have statistics regarding how many home fires start from different sources?

Have any fires been known to have been caused by a ceiling-mounted heater which is not in contact with any combustible materials?

Some heaters are rated/approved for this use. Check yours out. Find the make/model and check with that manufacturer.

I have to write a book report on fires and i’m having a little trouble trying to find a book about fires.

I love a bargain as much as anyone and I used to love all the cheap stuff I could find on eBay, but nowadays it seems so hard to find anything cheap over there and just when we’re all finding it tougher to just pay our bills. All I can compute is the KE of the bullet that is shot = (0.5)(8.33e-3)(6.36e2)² and after finding the recoil speed of the rifle {by equating momentum of bullet with that of rifle} computing rifle’s KE…BUT since
explosive energy of the gunpowder is lost in heat, sound, and gas that escapes after the bullet has left the barrel there’s not enough data to compute the TOTAL KE of the exploding gunpowder itself.

Hello,

I’m planning a trip to Moscow, Russia in 4 weeks time (starting the 30th).
I’m really worried hearing the news reports about forest fires and immense temperatures.
Will this weather persist or is there a big chance of cooling (as well as the end of forest fires).

Seeing newsreports that say the Moskoviets are advised to stay inside and images of people wearing protective masks scare me.
