When i am on the phone with my friend i can hear this loud chirping noise and when i ask her about it she says she can’t hear it. But i can hear it loud and clear like its a fire alarm ringing like the battery’s dying. Also, she says she can hear the noise in my background but i don’t hear a thing. What is going on here?
sounds like they are doing work on the phone cables in the area, and you are picking up induction from a tone generator that is connected to a cable/pair that is near yours,,..
What is this loud fire alarm type chirping that i can only hear on the phone?

Fire alarm goes off when windows open?
Everytime my brother opens his window in his room, his fire alarm goes off, and starts all of them in the house going. Does anyone know why are what we can do to fix it?
We dont have a house alarm, its just the normal smoke/fire alarm. Its not connected to the windows either.
try checking the wires that connects the alarm to the window. some alarms are designed to really do go off when the connection is broken. That is why alarms go off when window or doors are opened.
what would happen if a company got caught with no fire alarm?
would the company get closed down? This is a company that has been open for YEARS.. that is open to the public and has around 12 people working there..and more importantly a place that has a high risk of a fire because there is a lot of electrical things inside and a leaking ceiling… basically a death trap.. does anyone know what would happen if they got caught with no fire alarm? would they get closed down and what about the people that work there?
Sounds like they are trading without notifying the local authorities, ie not declaring a work premises to avoid Business rates and other tax’s! if they were they would be visited on regular basis by local fire safety officers.
They would probably be shut down temporally or permanent till they got sorted out, and a large fine…the workers i’m not sure where they stand with an employer like this..probably in the job centre.
It’s in your intrest for you and the people who you work there with to report them before someone gets killed or injured, if something did happen there family’s would not get a penny due to this outfit probably not having a public liability insurance etc.
Please do it now..

How was it when I was 11 my mother allowed me to pull the fire alarm in a fire?
When I was 11 my mother and I discovered a fire and we were outside. When I asked if I could pull the fire alarm my mom said yea go ahead. How was it that my mother allowed me to pull it as opposed to her.
How was it that she showed me how to do it and she even helped me kick the glass and pull the handle down.
It seems unusual for a mom to do this am I right?
She’s training you how to do it in the case of a real fire. Also, some kids that age are tempted to pull fire alarms, and I know, I was too. It’s not unusual for a mom to do that. She knows you will get something out of it in the future, in the event of another real fire.
“Old School” IBM Fire Alarm System
This is literally an “Old School” fire alarm system. It is the original fire alarm system that was installed when the school was built in 1955. This thing is a workhorse.
This is an IBM 4201-4 fire alarm panel. It operates only when a pull station is activated, and the system will continue to run until the station is reset. Through the relays and the coded wheel, the system clacks out pulses to the single stroke bells.
The system has a Simplex 4004 panel tied to it that operates pull stations and horns in a modular. You will hear the 4004 go into alarm first which then trips the IBM system. Notice the wheel at the bottom that turns and fires the bell circuits (watch closely and you’ll see some tiny sparks). Once the pull station is reset, it continues to do 4 more rounds until it times out.
IBM sold it’s fire alarm line to Simplex in 1958.
The system is up for replacement next summer with a Simplex 4100U.

Does a vacuum cleaner have a high pitch frequency or low? How about a fire alarm?
My two year old hates blenders, mowers, vacuums, but doesn’t mind the fire alarm. I’m trying to figure out what pitch he is sensitive to.
He doesnt like low pitched sounds, like humming sounds!!
fire alarm system demo
a demo of my mini fire alarm system. Devices hooked up are a Fire-Lite MS-4424B alarm control panel, Simplex 4251-20 pull, Simplex 4904-9101 remote strobe (4.5 Cd) and BRK 2824 smoke detector. This demo shows how a fire alarm system is activated by smoke. The beeping you hear is not the smoke detector, it’s the panel’s piezo indicating there’s an alarm condition. I used a burning insense stick to activate the smoke detector. The reason why I blew into it torwards the end was to make sure there was no smoke inside the detector so it would not trigger a false alarm. This system set up is a work in progress. Also what you see here is a privately owned set up, do not attempt on a public system.

How can I burn Incense in my dorm room without it setting off the fire alarm or getting caught? ?
I really love the smell of incense, but I live in a dorm room, and there is a smoke detector in the room, I fear that if I burn incense, the smoke will trip the alarm. It is also not allowed in the dorm because of fire hazards, but my incense burner is a water bowl with a pole for the incense, specifically made so that your incense wont burn the house down. So that isn’t an issue. Any Ideas?
Most smoke alarms that I’m familiar with will not go off from the smoke generated by incense. Now maybe if you burn a half-dozen sticks at once it might, but one stick at a time shouldn’t create enough combustion products to trigger the alarm.
