Fire Escape Inspection in MA?
I’m creating a website for a fire station; suggestions on good firefighter-themed music?
I’m creating a website for my favorite fire house in Manhattan, because they do not have one. I’ve been trying to think of music to use on the pages, but can’t think of anything good. I’m looking for upbeat music that most anyone would enjoy. Also, it would be GREAT if the music had reference to firefighters, fire, etc. Ex) ‘Fire’ by The Ohio Players. Thank you!
"You’ve Got What it Takes" Benton/Washington.
"Chariots of Fire" (instrumental)
Indiana Jones Theme Song Music
theme music from the classic western movie, “The Good, The Bad, The Ugly,”
theme music from the classic western movie, "the Magnificent Seven."
Hero of Allacrost music tracks
Star Wars: A Musical Journey CD
"Light My Fire" seems a bit antithetical, but fire fighters are sexy…both genders.
How can I clean fire damage from tile?
I had a small kitchen fire earlier this evening (a grease fire). As a result, there is some smoke damage and soot on the tile of the wall behind the gas range. What is an easy way for me to clean this off? I don’t want (or need) to call a professional fire restorer, because the damaged area is about 1 foot square total. Is there a commercial cleaning solution I can buy at a hardware store?
Try degreaser
White Vinegar
Brillos
All three of these will cost less than $10 and one of them will work.
Try a test spot with the brillo first, but most tile will handle a good scrubbing with a brillo.
in the rocky mountian states what agency handles mountian rescue? is it a fire dept or a private company?
i currently work in the EMS field and am looking to get into mountian rescue, i just want to know who handles the helicopter mountian rescue operations in the rocky mountian states. is it a fire dept or another organization?
It varies state by state so start looking in the state where you want to live. This is one of those things where you look in a state directory for something close, make the telephone call, refine your search, etc. After about three calls you should be there.
What training do you need to be a Fire Warden for the office?
The Office is located in Manchester, UK.
It has over 20 members of staff.
If you know of places to get training that would be very helpful
There is a company in Trafford Park, in Manchester who are very good. They are called Fire Training UK Ltd and we use them for all our fire training. They are very good value for money and we are pleased with their extinguisher servicing costs too (but you can just get the fire training if that’s all you want). Their phone number is 01618737031.

Borrowing traffic cones from police or fire department?
Do you know if you can borrow traffic cones from the police department or fire department? I want to practice maneuverability so I can get my liscense. I live in Columbus, OH. Anyone know if the Columbus police/fire let people borrow cones? Or just in general, anyone know?
I work a police dept in NE Ohio and I would say at least every other week we loan out cones to people, just go ask.
What would you do if you pulled a fire alarm in a fire and it did not sound?
If there was a fire and you pulled the handle down and let go and the handle went back up what would you say or do? Do you need to hold the handle down until the alarm sounds? Would you go to another alarm and pull that one? Why would the handle go back up or if you pull it it does not sound? If the alarm only sounded for a few seconds and it turned off what would you do?
I’d save myself, everyone else is mostly black anyway. No harm done.
any one know any ideas i can use to make my physics fire safety project?
i have to make a physics fire safety project for my fire technology class
does anyone know something i can make or do for this project i need some ideas please help me out. it just has to do with fire saftey and how it relates any ideas anyone? Ex) like a wild fire but a mini version is what one kid did but our professor said it wasnt a good grade any other ideas?
Since the fire safety should involve physics, a good subject might be about the different kinds of fire extinguishers and why they are needed for the different types of fires; A – B – C. You could go into detail about how all fires are basically the same, (the rapid oxidation of some material), but depending on exactly what is burning there are different requirements for extinguishing them.
How exactly does starting a backfire work to put out forest fires ?
I understand that the forest fire would destroy everything in its path until it meets the backfire and then extinguish itself. This would work only when the backfire proceeds in the direction of the forest fire ? How do they make the backfire avoid further damage – if both the fires proceed in the same direction, say east to west based on the wind, wouldn’t the backfire itself be a new forest fire ?
the way it works is by first making a fire break… an area where the back burn ends. then by back burning, you remove additional fuel from the larger fire and create a larger buffer zone or fire break… there by preventing the larger fire from progressing beyond the break. eventually, running out of fuel and extiguishing the blaze.
